TANVEE RAVI  Performer

Tanvee Ravi is an alumnus of The Drama School, Mumbai. She began her work as a Theatre-maker in 2011 with several productions in Bangalore. She has been an Inlaks Theatre Awardee for studying Clown under the mentorship of Faezeh Jalali.  She has also been a part of Faezeh Jalali's 07/07/07 that won the META for Best Ensemble. Tanvee has been a part of the commercial play 'Jaan-e-Jigar' that ran internationally, completing more than 170 shows. She has been nominated for the South India International Movies Awards (SIIMA 2020) for her work in the short film 'Nitya'. Recently, she has been a part of the  Kannada film 'Kaddha Chitra' starring Vijay Raghvendra.

SUMEET BORANA Performer

Sumeet Borana is an actor of rigour. He started his theatre journey with Ratan Thakore Grant’s theatre workshop called 'MISFIT'. An alumnus of the Roshan Taneja School of Acting, he has worked in numerous plays in Bangalore & Mumbai, which includes 'Guilt', 'Edge of Heaven', 'How Long is February'. 'How Long is February' was one of the five plays  from India selected  for the prestigious Edinburgh festival Fringe. He began studying Clown with Ariane Mnouchkine's workshop 'Écolenomade' in 2019 and has since been a part of workshops and plays exploring his Clown. Sumeet recently received glorious reviews for his work in the Tamil film 'Natchathiram Nagargiradhu', directed by Pa. Ranjith.

DEEVAS GUPTA Performer

Deevas Gupta is an experienced actor, voice actor, director and a storyteller. He loves telling stories, especially the ones around human connections, emotions, cultures and the effects of socio-political changes on these. As an actor he loves the process of studying a character and the effects of his/her choices on the narrative of a story. As a play director he follows Indian theatre style and experiments with various art forms. He has performed on stories by various Hindi & Urdu writers and has been performing the stories of Saadat Hasan Manto for the last 8 years and wishes to resurrect the lesser heard stories of Manto.  He teaches theatre to kids and often performs stories for kids too at various events.

ASWIN VARRIER Performer

With a PG Diploma in Acting and Theatre Making from Drama School Mumbai and a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Studies from Christ University, Aswin brings over a decade of diverse experience to the world of theatre. His journey encompasses roles as an actor, corporate trainer, researcher, and integral involvement in organizing prominent arts/theatre festivals such as Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa and the International Theatre Festival of Kerala.

Beyond the stage, Aswin's versatility extends to recording audio books, acting in short films, and contributing as a Sound Designer as well as an Assistant Director for various productions.

SWETANSHU BORA Writer, Director

Swetanshu’s work as a playwright of close to ten plays has focussed on the cultural and ideological clashes in modern India on subjects of sexual liberty, mental health, free speech policing and political correctness.  His work as a performer over the last twenty years has ranged from classical text (both western and Indian) to modern contemporary movement pieces, and has been showcased  around the country and internationally. He won the TFA award for his play 'Pagdi' in 2013 and was twice nominated for the Hindu Metroplus playwright award in 2011 and 2018 for his plays 'Once, on that Street' and 'Guilt' respectively.  He was inducted into the Director’s Lab Mediterranean (Barcelona) in 2021.

TARUN KAPOOR Assistant Director, Stage Manager

Tarun Kapoor is a filmmaker, actor and theatre artist. A man of many skills, Tarun has worked extensively in every aspect of the theatre, and several designations as a filmmaker. Co-Founder of Dot Theatre, he directed 'The Wish',  played the role of actor and stage combat choreographer in 'Men and Dog' and stage managed and produced the Thespo award winning play 'Baksa'.

He also works as a writer, creative producer and director in films. He primarily works on ad films, music videos and short films. His latest work (as of Dec 2023), is the short film 'Til Death' (writer, producer and director) starring Maahir Mohiuddin.

LAVANYA KRISHNA Assistant Writer, Lighting Execution

Lavanya Krishna is a Bangalore based actor, writer, and singer. She discovered her passion for the performing arts in middle school during her involvement in the theatre club. This powered her decision to major in Theatre Studies, which then set the stage for her evolution into a full-time performer. Besides acting in twelve stage productions nationwide, she has ventured into spoken word and written poetry. Her love for Improv led to her being one  of 'The Adamant Eves' (India's pioneering all-woman Improv group).

She has also lent her voice to a plethora of audiobooks and audio dramas across genres on Audible and Headfone.

ANVITA AGRAWAL Set Design and Dramaturgy 

Anvita Agrawal is an alumnus of NIFT and has spent over a decade creating fine jewellery for some of the leading luxury brands in that space. She also spent a few years creating her own line of "storytelling through vintage art jewellery", while bagging an international award for one of her creations. A woman that enjoys wearing many hats, she is also a trained kathak dancer and is currently training to be a mental health professional and art therapist as well. 
To her, art is the ultimate expression of one's inner world and has a special love for storytelling through design. She is exploring a new dimension on this quest, with her first play - Anthill.

ARUNA H Art Direction and Costumes

Marketing and research consultant by day, theatre enthusiast by night, Aruna is venturing into costume and graphic design for the stage with 'Anthill'. Whether it's understanding audiences for brands or crafting visuals for characters, Aruna has always been drawn to the power of storytelling. 

Stepping into the world of costume design for 'Anthill' has been a thrilling discovery for her. It allowed her to tap into her creativity in unexpected ways, while still putting her research skills to use in exploring the play's complex theme of mental health. She is excited to see this collaboration come to life on stage.

Sumit is one of the Founder Members of The Red Curtain and has been involved in over 250 productions in his 50 + year affair with theatre. As Producer, Director, Actor, Stage Manager, Lighting Designer, Set Fabricator, Front-of-House Manager, and Prompter.

Professionally, he heads www.univbrands.com, a worldwide learn-by-earning coaching service that he runs from Kolkata, India.

Sumit uses theatre coaching techniques to create brands out of businesses. For The Red Curtain, he is passionate about growing people who grow theatre.
